He got bad presses for Phantom? Are they nuts! He is so magnificient and you could feel the loneliness of the Phantom! If I had been Christine, I would have choosen HIM! (Of course the murdering people was a bit off putting.) WHAT A TOTAL HUNK - AND I AM 62 - I DIDN'T KNOW I STILL HAD DROOLING IN ME! | | | balshaa002 says @ Friday - January 16,2009
As the man of a thousand faces, Lon Chaney had nothing on this guy. Gerard Butler IS every character he plays. Even though I have only seen him in heavy makeup once, I still had a hard time recognizing him in some of his roles. He has made me cry a few times, just by the look of pain on HIS face. He is a fantastic actor! | | | lil_bruce says @ Friday - January 16,2009
Gerry is a force to be reckoned with and I do believe he is poised as they say...with 300, Butterfly on the Wheel, Therese Raquin all either filmed, being filmed or to be filmed...he is going to be a major player soon. He already has "the most loyal fans" in his own words. Deeply talented and fabulously gorgeous..Gerard Butler!!1 | | | lhou_anne says @ Friday - January 16,2009
Gerry Butler is a uniquely talented and versatile actor. His heartwrenching portrayal of the Phantom in Phantom of the Opera was stunning and more than oscar worthy. He immerses himself so deeply into the characters he plays that he is virtually unrecognizable. His performances in The Jury, Dear Frankie and the short film, Please were particularly noteworthy. | | | mariaebs says @ Friday - January 16,2009

I first saw him in Phantom of the Opera. Is acting was sooooo wonderful. He truly puts himself into the character. I find that to ability to be so lacking in most of the actors today. The "Point of No Return" scene has got to be one of the more sensual, emotional scenes that has come along in many years. Why he did not win an oscar is mind boggling to me. I recently watched "Dear Frankie" because I wanted to see how he was in another role. Again, his abilities as an actor st | | | jascharvan says @ Friday - January 16,2009
I first saw him in Phantom of the Opera. His acting was sooooo wonderful. He truly puts himself into the character. His ability to become his character reminds me of Betty Davis's same talent. The "Point of No Return" scene has got to be one of the more sensual, emotional scenes that has come along in many years. Why he did not win an oscar is mind boggling to me. I recently watched "Dear Frankie" because I wanted to see how he was in another role. Again, his talent was obvious | | | sun_of_nite says @ Friday - January 16,2009
He is a breath of fresh air, finally a guy who is not only handsome but a good actor, unlike all those pretty boys out there. His portrayal of the phantom showed all sides of the character, not just the twisted side, he made you like him.
