Please contact me so I can explain to you that I have an IEP student in the 9th grade. That is reading at a 4th grade level. That the school has had him on the same program where he has had to move on so many points and he has not moved at all but they have advanced him anyway. Now they are saying it is too late for him to go on a diploma track. Now there is now way for him to graduate with his regular students. Their suggestion is to give him a state diploma stating that he has gone through 12 years of school. This is lower than a GED standard. Now this is SC Now if you want more information about this my daughter and I have researched and have gone several times to the school, IEP people and we have prove and evidence on film and documents where they have none done their part in teaching this child since the 4th and 5th grade and here it is the 9th grade but none of the teachers or school district 2 in SC wants to admit that they failed this child.
