Zelda Harris (born February 17, 1985) is an American actress.
Harris was born in New York City, New York to Karen and Philip Harris. She has a sister, Kenya. She attended Princeton University, where she is a member of the Class of 2007.
Career
Harris began appearing in commercials while still an infant. From there she became a regular on the celebrated children's series Sesame Street. In 1991, Harris made her episodic TV debut, in an episode of I'll Fly Away. Her talents made her an appealing choice for the role of Troy, the only daughter amidst a swarm of boys, in Spike Lee's loosely autobiographical film Crooklyn (1994).
She was next seen as Jessi in The Baby-Sitters Club (1995), Melanie Mayron's adaptation of the popular novels. In 1997 she co-starred in a USA Network movie Clover. In 1998 she reteamed with Spike Lee for the feature He Got Game, with Denzel Washington; in this film, she plays Mary, the younger sister of basketball prospect Jesus Shuttleworth (Ray Allen).
In 2005, Harris played the Queen in a performance of William Shakespeare's Cymbeline for Princeton's Theatre Intime.
