Will Sasso Detailed Biography
|
|
Will Sasso (born May 24, 1975 in Ladner, British Columbia, Canada) is a comic actor. He is most notable for his membership in the recurring cast of comedians on sketch comedy series MADtv, spending five seasons on the show.
He credits his determination to become an actor and his respect for comedy to an "unhealthy addiction to...television."
Will Sasso
At the age of fifteen he landed his first agent and quickly began booking roles in television and film. Before moving from Vancouver to Los Angeles, Sasso starred for five seasons as quirky teen `Derek Wakaluk' on the award-winning Canadian dramatic series "Madison. Official mini-biographies claim that this experience ..." him to hone his acting and improvisational skills... him with enough money to buy a television of his own."
His key character on MADtv was an accident-prone handyman called 'Paul Timberman', but he was also called upon to perform offbeat impressions of Bill Clinton, Kenny Rogers, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Steven Segal, Randy Newman, Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock (he is an avid World Wrestling Entertainment fan; his impression of Stone Cold Steve Austin was so good that WWE (then WWF) hired him to be part of a February 2002 episode of WWF SmackDown!, appearing alongside Chris Jericho and the real-life Stone Cold Steve Austin.) After a successful tenure with the show beginning in 1997, Sasso decided to leave the late-night staple in 2002, eager to explore the next stage of his career.
His cinema credits include Christopher Guest's "Best in Show" and "A Mighty Wind," as well as "Drop Dead Gorgeous"" "The Hot Chick", "Beverly Hills Ninja" (a comedy starring the late Chris Farley and featuring Robin Shou and Chris Rock-- Sasso is uncredited), "Happy Gilmore", and "The Hot Chick"; on both of the latter two films, Sasso worked with Adam Sandler producer of "The Hot Chick", star of "Happy Gilmore.")
Sasso's most recent (circa January 3, 2006) project is a recurring role as 'Carl Monari' on the ABC sitcom Less Than Perfect.
Official mini-biographers attest that "...in his spare time... Sasso enjoys the outdoors and the indoors."
Sasso is probably related to Sandy Eisenberg Sasso.
