Vanessa Menga was born on October 20th in 1976, in São Paulo. She started playing tennis when she was 4, winning her first tournament at the age of 6, Esperança Tournament, playing in a 8-year-old category. As a juvenile won many titles, and at the age of 14, "Vini", as she likes to be called, went to Barcelona to train, when she won for the first time a professional tournament in a doubles match.
For many times she represented Brazil in international tournaments, Pan American Games, Federation Cup and the doubles match in Atlanta Olympic Games. In 1998, she got amazing surprises, also called "the muse of courts" for her beauty and charm, and for the talent she shows when practicing the sport. In 1999, Vanessa was the champion in the plain of the Poza Rica Tournament, in Mexico and of I Tropical Girls Open, held at the Tropical Manaus, assuring not only the number one position in Brazil, as well the excellent sponsorship from the Tropical Hotels Brasíl.
Vanessa lives in São Paulo, in an apartment given by Cincom in Jardins, and spends her time traveling and practicing with the specialist Fábio Silberberg, who takes care of her technical preparation.
