 Tony Curran Detailed Biography
Tony Curran starred in the British telefilms Touching Evil, Great Expectations and Split Second, and also appeared in Go Now, Captives, Shallow Grave and Heavenly Pursuits. He made his American film debut in director Bill Forsyth's feature Being Human, which starred Robin Williams, and appears in Ridley Scott's Gladiator, starring Russell Crowe.

Curran starred as series regular Lenny in the BBC series This Life, and on such BBC productions as Athletico Partick, Over Here, Nervous Energy, The Garden, Blagadoon, Rab C Nesbitt, Children of Coal and Iron, Parahandy, The Late Show and Strathblair. In addition to numerous STV productions such as Taggart, Curran also starred in Thames Television's The Bill, YTV's Touch of Frost, Witzend/ITV's Independent Man, and Lux Films' On Dangerous Ground.

For his performance as the Devil in the Riverside Studios and national tour of The Soldier's Tale, Curran received the Evening News National Award. He starred in Matthew Francis' production of The Last Romantics at the Greenwich Theatre, and received critical praise for two productions at the Gate Theatre: Silverface and The Boat Plays, both directed by David Farr.

Other stage credits include Dogs Barking at the Bush Theatre, The Glory of Living at the Royal Court Theatre, the Edinburgh Lyceum productions of Carlucco, Kidnapped and Mary Queen of Scots Got Her Head Chopped Off; the Traverse Theatre's Romeo and Juliet; the Arches Theatre's production of Waiting For Godot and Richard III (and the subsequent Singapore tour of the latter); as well as the national tour of No Mean Fighter and the starring role as Puck in A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Warsaw Academy in Poland.

Born and raised in Scotland, Curran is a graduate of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.
