Tom Ward (born 11 January 1971) is a Welsh actor.

Tom Ward was born in Swansea, Wales, to Welsh poet John Powell Ward and Sarah Ward OBE, a farmer. His brother Tristan is a solicitor. He attended the Dragon School in Oxford, The King's School, Canterbury, and subsequently went on to study Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Oxford. He was a member of the drama society and it was there that he decided to pursue acting as a career. He has fenced for Great Britain. He plays saxophone, sings and dances. He keeps fit by going horse riding, a skill that has been made use of in several of his television roles.

Ward's TV appearances have included costume dramas such as Moll Flanders, Pride and Prejudice, Vanity Fair, Love in a Cold Climate, Anna Karenina, and a BBC adaptation of The Lost World. He has also appeared in Red Cap, Warriors and Silent Witness, playing the regular character of Dr. Harry Cunningham for which he is now best known. In 2001 he played writer H. G. Wells in The Infinite Worlds of H. G. Wells and in 2004 he played mathematician Roger Penrose in the award-winning BBC2 drama Hawking. Theatre work includes An Inspector Calls, Hamlet, The Vortex, Hay Fever and The Merchant of Venice.

In 2001, Tom Ward married journalist Emily Hohler. They currently live in Oxford. They have three children: Jack Ward was born in 2002 and Tabitha was born in 2004. A second son, Jimmy, was born in 2006.
