Tempestt Bledsoe (born August 1, 1973) is an American actress best known for her role as Vanessa Huxtable in the popular 1980's television sitcom, The Cosby Show.
In the mid-1990's, she enjoyed a short-lived stint as the host of her own daytime talk show host, The Tempestt Bledsoe Show. More recently, she has been featured in the role of a single mother on the ABC show The Practice and the Lifetime show Strong Medicine. She also appears in the third season of the VH1 reality television program, Celebrity Fit Club, which began airing in January 2006.
In television interviews, she is often asked about and speaks of her experiences as a child star together with her co-stars Bill Cosby, Phylicia Rashad, Lisa Bonet, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Keshia Knight Pulliam, Sabrina Le Beauf, and Raven-Symone.
Bledsoe is mentioned in Stephen Levitt's Freakonomics as an example of her first name being mistaken for "Temptress".
Tempestt can currently be seen on cable television as a contestant on VH-1's Celebrity Fit Club 3.
