Sunny Mabrey Detailed Biography
Sunny Mabrey hales from Gadsen, Alabama, about 20 minutes away from the hometown of her fiancé, Clayne Crawford (A Walk To Remember). Though they are both from Alabama, they met while he was working in a theater in Los Angeles, California. Clayne has said of his future wife, "Her high school football team played mine. Isn't that so sweet?...The Good Lord has taken care of me. He sent me a southern girl." And the couple can be seen hand in hand around the Hollywood premiere scene, smiling sweetly at each other and the cameras.
Sunny prides herself in her southern background. "I think of myself as a Hollywood hillbilly," she said, "but I'm sick of all these questions people ask about Alabama. 'Do you have an outhouse?' 'Is there a lot of inbreeding in your family?'" It's fairly obvious the answer to that second question is no considering some of Sunny's resumé entries include modelling for the GAP "Khakis" campaign and a spot as one of the naked bodies behind Ricky Martin on the cover of Rolling Stone in 1999.
Before her movie debut in The New Guy, this southern belle starred in several national commercials as well as theater productions, including "A Midsummer Night's Dream" while attending the University of Alabama at Mobile. Even with this onscreen background, she considered being in front of the camera while filming The New Guy "like coming home." She even confessed to screaming the first time she saw herself in the trailer on the big screen
