Sasha Cohen was born on October 26, 1984 in Los Angeles, California to Roger and Galina Cohen. Sasha Cohen was named after her mother's favorite ballerina, and she goes by Sasha the Ukrainian nickname for Alexandra. Sasha Cohen also has a younger sister named Natasha. Sasha Cohen began skating at the age of seven, and by the age of 15 had won the silver at the U.S. National Championships. Sasha Cohen competed in the 2002 Olympics. There, Sasha Cohen was placed 4th, and has since placed 4th and the 2002 and 2003 World Championships, and won the silver at the 2004 World Championships. Sasha Cohen has also won three silver medals and a bronze at the U.S. National Championships.
