Russell Brand was born on June 4, 1975 in Grays, Essex, England. He is an English comedian, actor, columnist and presenter of radio and television. Brand is the only child of Barbara Elizabeth and Ronald Henry Brand. His father was a photographer. Ronald Henry Brand separated from his wife when Russell Brand was 6-months-old. Brand had a quite isolated and lonely childhood. Russell made his theatrical debut at the age of fifteen, in Bugsy Malone as Fat Sam. Essex council decreed it criminally neglectful to allow this chameleon like ability to put on hats to go un-nurtured and promptly funded an education at the fancy Italia Conti stage school, which lead to a three-year scholarship at the drama centre in Camden. Brand's first significant stand-up appearance was at the Hackney Empire New Act of the Year final in 2000. Although he did not finish in the top three, his performance attracted the attention of an agent, John Noel. His first big tour was his show Shame which he toured the UK and performed to sell out audiences drawing on embarrassing things that have happened and the tabloid press and how they have treated him since he became famous. Brand's first major TV acting work was an appearance in an episode of The Bill in 1994. After then, he acted in several television comedy dramas. Brand's first film role was in the 2007 in "St Trinian's", directed by Oliver Parker and Barnaby Thompson, in which he played Flash Harry. In 2008, he had a small role in "Penelope". His breakthrough role was in the 2008 film Forgetting Sarah Marshall in which he played Aldous Snow, the boyfriend of the title character (played by Kristen Bell).
