Rikki Rockett was the younger amongst two siblings. His parents are Norman and Margaret Ream. He took admission at Cedar Cliff High School in Camp Hill. Before laying the foundation of the band named Poison along with a singer named Bret Michaels, Rockett tried his hands in numerous professions including hairdresser, lifeguard, dishwasher, Emergency Medical Technician and a suit salesman.
Rikki rose to fame as a drummer at Poison, the American glam metal band. He became part and parcel of the success of this band . In fact the photograph of a tattoo that was featured on Poison's album of the year 1990 namely Flesh and Blood is Rockett's right shoulder. The logo was already done a couple of years prior but he added "Flesh and Blood" in support of the title. The original album cover still has the blood running from the new tattoo though it was airbrushed out soon after its release.
Along with Brian Cocivera Rockett formed Custom Built Drum kits called the chop-shop drum company.In the span of long association of 20 years with Poison band , Rockett brought out his first solo album called Glitter 4 Your Soul on January 7, 2003 which was distributed on-line. Actually this album was a kind of tribute to glam rock of 1970s. He also appeared as a guest on Britny Fox's Bite Down Hard.
On April 2006, Rockett appeared as a guest at TLC's new "Wrecks To Riches" auto overhaul series.
On 26 April 2007 Rockett declared about the formation of "Rockett Drum Works Inc". It is a drum manufacturing company, that specializes in the creation of various musical items like ultra custom drum kits, snare drums and custom accessories. Prior to this creation of his enterprise, Rockett worked for Chop Shop Custom Drum. He parted away when his opinion differed with Chop Shop founder Brian Cocivera. Rockett enrolled most of the staff from the Chop Shop Drum Company, his old drum concern, which he had already left, along with some newly appointed staff members. He formed the new company with the noble aim of expressing his personal concepts and creating exclusive, high quality custom percussion instruments.
On September19 2007, Bosphorus Cymbals revealed the "Rockett Ride". It is a custom ride cymbal in 20" and 22" sizes, that is designed as per exact specifications of Rikki. On March 26th, 2008 Rocket was nailed at LAX airport on a rape warrant .
Apart from music , Rockett is a vegetarian and also an animal rights activist . He also has grabbed a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Renato Magno.
The personal life of Rockett is not at all smooth sailing. In late 1993, Rockett came to know that Richie Kotzen ,the then guitarist of Poison was going around with his fiancee , Deanna Eve. Kotzen was fired afterwards.
