Renée Asherson (born 19 May 1920 in London, England) is an English actress with a distinguished career in theatre, films and television.
Her first major film role was as Princess Katharine in the 1944 film Henry V opposite Laurence Olivier. Other film credits include: The Way to the Stars, Caesar and Cleopatra, Once A Jolly Swagman, The Small Back Room, Pool of London, Malta Story, Time Is My Enemy, The Day the Earth Caught Fire, Rasputin, the Mad Monk, Theatre of Blood and The Others.
She has also been frequently seen on television with appearances in Clayhanger, Disraeli, Tenko, Miss Marple, Memento Mori, Lovejoy and Midsomer Murders.
She was married to actor Robert Donat from 1953. They separated and were due to reconcile at the time of his untimely death in 1958.
