Remy Smith, whose professional name is Remy Ma was born on May 30, 1981 in Bronx, New York. Remy was the member of Fat Joe's rap crew, Terror Squad. After Big Pun's death, Fat Joe signed Remy to his new record label, SRC Records under Universal Records and made her a member of Terror Squad. After the release of her debut solo album, "Lean Back", she earned a Grammy nomination. With the solo albums lackluster debut, Ma decided to part from longtime affiliates of Fat Joe and the Terror Squad, breaking her deal with SRC under Universal in the process.
Remy Ma has released three single album There's Something About Remy: "Whuteva" , "Conceited", and "Feels So Good". "Conceited" was the most successful album but it was a large commercial failure, selling only 90,000 units in its opening week and 158,000 units within the first year. The album got 3.5 mics from The Source magazine. Remy's second album was preceded by the mixtape Shesus Khryst, the album cover depicting Remy Ma on a cross.[1] The first single is "Weatherman" which originally debuted on her personal website for purchasing and viewing only. The follow up single to Weatherman is title track, "Shesus Khryst."
