Reginald DeVincey Wayne (born November 17, 1978 in New Orleans, Louisiana) is an American football wide receiver who currently plays for the NFL's Indianapolis Colts.

Wayne attended John Ehret High School in Marrero, Louisiana, where he was a two-sport standout in both football and track. In football, he was a two-time All-State honoree, and as a senior, caught 50 passes for 930 yards (18.6 yards per reception average) and 10 touchdowns. In track, he ran the 200-meter dash and various relays.

As a 4-year starter at the University Of Miami, Wayne set a school record 173 career catches (including 36 consecutive games with a reception) and is only one of three wide receivers in school history to post 20+ touchdowns in his career.

Wayne was drafted by the Colts with the 30th pick in the first round of the 2001 NFL Draft. In the beginning, Wayne was drafted to serve as second fiddle to Marvin Harrison. After his contract ran out, the Colts offered him a 6-year, $39.5 million contract to remain on the team.

Wayne was drafted as an insurance policy for the Colts, who already had a star receiver in Marvin Harrison. Wayne's first year witnessed him putting up pedestrian numbers at best as he caught only 27 passes for 345 yards with no touchdowns. His yards doubled the next year as he caught 49 passes for 716 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Because of a solid 2002 season Wayne received much more attention from All Pro Peyton Manning in 2003 as he caught 68 balls for 838 yards and 7 touchdowns. 2004 was Wayne's second best statistical season as he caught 77 passes for 1,210 yards and 12 touchdowns. Wayne was named the "Wild Card Weekend Offensive Player of the Week" after the Colts beat the Broncos. Normally this performance would be good enough for the Pro Bowl but because of a bigger wide receiver star Marvin Harrison on the same team, and Peyton Manning breaking the single season passing touchdown record his accomplishments went overshadowed. In 2005 Wayne's yards per catch took a dive as he set a personal high for receptions with 83 for 1,055 yards, a 12.7 average per reception. (His average the previous year was 15.7 yards).

In 2006 Wayne re-signed with the Colts instead of moving to another team and potentially becoming the number one receiver. Wayne set personal highs as he caught 86 balls for a career high 1,310 yards and 9 touchdowns. Wayne was elected to his first Pro Bowl the same year. Wayne is often used in late game situations because most teams concentrate on Marvin Harrison. He caught a 53-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter of Super Bowl XLI against the Chicago Bears. The Colts went on to win, 29-17.

Wayne lost his older brother, Rashad, in a car accident. Rashad Wayne, who was 31 years old, died when his delivery truck crashed into a highway guardrail in Louisiana, just days before Wayne had a productive performance against the New York Jets.[citation needed]
