Arrested by Miami Beach police on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, careless driving and leaving the scene of an accident. Her rented Dodge ran off the road into a traffic sign. She was arrested about 1:45am and released after posting a bond during the day. Her statement to the arresting officer was, "I'm a movie star. Can I talk to my entertainment lawyer?" [28 August 2001]
She and her family briefly lived in Israel (where she filmed A Man Called Sarge (1990)). After her parents divorced, she moved back to New York with her mother and brother while her father remained in Israel.

Natasha Lyonne was born Natasha Braunstein into a conservative Jewish family on April 4th, 1979 in New York City and spent her childhood in New York and Israel. Natasha's brother, Adam served in the Israeli army and her father is Aaron Braunstein - a major boxing promoter and entertainment agent. Natasha attended Yeshiva high school, which is a Jewish high-school in Manhattan, New York.
Whilst Natasha was there, she acted in many school productions. One being The Magic Garden. Natasha has starred in many movies, including Dennis the Menace (1993), Everyone Says I Love You (1996), Slums Of Beverly Hills (1998), Scary Movie 2 (2001) and Kate & Leopold (2001).
