Monika Schnarre (born May 27, 1971 in Toronto, Ontario) is a Canadian model and actress.
A native of Scarborough, Ontario who attended Woburn Collegiate Institute, Schnarre, a remarkably and precociously beautiful young woman, was discovered by the Judy Welch Modeling agency of Toronto. She first came into international recognition at the age of 14 when she won the prestigious Ford Models "Supermodel of the World" contest in January, 1986, the youngest ever to win that honor. She was on the cover of the April 1986 cover of American Vogue while still 14 and in the 1987 Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue at the age of 15...the youngest ever to do so. Monika was one of the world's tallest models at 6' 2" (1,88 m).
Monika wrote a book about her modeling experiences entitled Monika: Between You and Me in 1989.
The statuesque Schnarre went on to become an actress and won acclaim as one of the most beautiful women in the world. She starred on the television series Boogie's Diner, The Bold and the Beautiful, and as the Sorceress on Beastmaster, as well as making a number of guest appearances on other shows such as Beverly Hills 90210, Andromeda, and Caroline in the City, just to name a few. Monika has also made a number of movies, with starring roles in Waxwork II: Lost in Time, Dead Fire, Vegas: City of Dreams, Snowbound, and Love on the Side. Altogether, Schnarre has made over forty television and film appearances.
Schnarre left acting to study television entertainment journalism at UCLA and was co-host of Celebrity RSVP, a Canadian entertainment news program.
In 2007 Schnarre lent her name, time, and talent in becoming a volunteer Ambassador for Habitat for Humanity Toronto's (www.torontohabitat.ca) Women Build program.
Currently Schnarre resides in Toronto is represented by Sutherland Models of Toronto and Lucas Talent of Vancouver and is promoting a new line of swimwear for Sea Queen .
