Maxine Bahns was born on February 28, 1971 in Stowe, Vermont, US. She is the daughter of a German-American father and a Chinese-Brazilian mother. At the age of 16, Bahns traveled to Barcelona, Valencia, Paris, and Rome. After returning to New York, she attended the New York University where she majored in Latin and Greek language and literature and studied for her Ph.D. in Classics. During this time she auditioned for Ed Burns' "The Brothers McMullen" (1995) and was cast as the female lead opposite Ed Burns. Over the next few years, she has appeared in various low budget independent films. She is currently appearing in "The Mentalist".
Bahns has also been involved in modelling working for the Elite Model Management. During her time as a model, she has appeared on numerous magazines including on the American, Italian, and French editions of Vogue, FHM, Sports Illustrated for Women, Self, Glamour, and Maxim.
On moving to Los Angeles, Maxine became involved in triathlons, and in 2001 she competed in the Hawaii Ironman Championships. She has also competed in numerous other triathlons such as the Wildflower 1/2 Ironman and the Keauhou 1/2 Ironman. She has appeared on the covers of Runner's World, Triathlete Magazine, and Fit magazine.
