Matt Clement (born August 12, 1974 in McCandless Township, Pennsylvania) is an American right-handed starting pitcher in Major League Baseball who has played for the San Diego Padres (1998-2000), Florida Marlins (2001) and Chicago Cubs (2002-present). Selected by the Padres in the 3rd round of the 1993 amateur draft, he has thus far not had the success expected of him, never finishing with a record better than 14-12. In his career through 2003, Clement has a record of 60-62 with 838 strikeouts and a 4.46 earned run average.
