Lindsay Davenport is some 6 ft 2 in tall and has a powerful serve, some great ground strokes and is renowned as hard working player on the ATP circuit. The US Open was won by the American in 1998, when Lindsay Davenport defeated the Swiss player, Martina Hingis, 6-3,7-5,in the final and,of course, Lindsay Davenport was the 1999 Wimbledon ladies singles champion. Lindsay Davenport also won the 2000 Australian Open,again defeating Martina Hingis and reached the semi final of the Wimbledon championships, before losing to the all conquering Venus Williams.
