Liev Schreiber has built a reputation as both an acclaimed and sought-after actor with a solid list of motion picture and theatrical credits.
Schreiber recently appeared on stage opposite Angela Bassett and Alec Baldwin in the Public Theater production of Macbeth, directed by George Wolfe.
Schreiber recently starred in the box office success Scream 2, directed by Wes Craven, and had a costarring role in Dean Koontz's Phantoms. He also appeared with Paul Newman in Twilight, directed by Robert Benton, and the independent film A Walk on the Moon, directed by Tony Goldwyn.
Schreiber has also appeared in some of the most critically acclaimed independent productions of recent years. Among these are Daisy Von Scherler Mayer's Party Girl, Hal Salwen's Denise Calls Up, Nicole Holofcener's Walking and Talking as well as his critically acclaimed performance in Greg Mottola's Daytrippers.
Schreiber's credits in more mainstream films include Nora Ephron's Mixed Nuts, Antonia Bird's Mad Love, Ron Howard's Ransom and Barry Levinson's Sphere.
A 1992 graduate of the Yale School of Drama, Schreiber spent a year abroad, studying with faculty from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. His stage credits include Harold Pinter's Moonlight with Blythe Danner and Jason Robards (directed by Karl Reisz), JoAnne Akalaitis' production of In the Summer House at New York's Lincoln Center, the New York Shakespeare Festival production of The Tempest (directed by George C. Wolfe), All For One, Goodnight Desdemona, Good Morning Juliet and many others. He has also appeared at the Yale Repertory Theatre in several productions including Ivanov, directed by the Moscow Art Theater's Oleg Yefriemov.
On television, Schreiber has appeared in the miniseries Buffalo Girls, the NBC pilot People V and the telefilms Janek: A Silent Betrayal and the Sunshine Boys.
