Kirstie Alley Detailed Biography -
|
Kirstie Alley was born between her older sister Colette and her younger brother Craig. Sadly, Kirstie's mother Mickie was killed in 1981 in a car accident which also injured her father Robert. Alley went to Kansas State University in 1974, before beginning her drama career in the art school at the University of Kansas. She spent five years studying acting and working as an interior designer, before making the move to Hollywood.
Kirstie first became known after she appeared as Lt. Saavik in the 1982 film Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, but most people got to know her when she joined the cast of the hit comedy series, Cheers. After the show's cancellation, it seemed Kirstie disappeared, but she made an incredible "comeback" when she starred in the mega-hit Look Who's Talking opposite John Travolta. After a string of feature films, Kirstie got her own show, the modest hit, Veronica's Closet.
