Matchett knew nothing about hockey when she landed the role of Colleen Blessed on '"Power Play" (1998)' at the age of twenty-eight, and relied on her husband, director T.W. Peacocke to teach her the ropes.

Kari Matchett (born 1970 in Calgary, Alberta) is a Canadian actress in TV and film.
In Canada she is widely known for her roles in the TV series shows Blue Murder (2004) and Power Play (1998-2000). In the US, she is often known for her former recurring role in A Nero Wolfe Mystery (2001-2002), as well as several guest appearances on Earth: Final Conflict.
Her most recent work is on the new ABC TV series, Invasion which premiered in the fall of 2005. The series is about aliens apparently taking the form of humans.
Her most notable film role was in a movie about curling, Men with Brooms in 2002.
Kari studied at the National Theatre School in Montreal, Quebec and the Moscow Theatre School. She performed on stage for three years in Stratford.
