Johnny David Damon better known as Johnny Damon bats and throws with his left for the Boston Red Sox. Damon stands at six feet two inches and weighs about one hundred and ninety pounds. Johnny Damon was born on the 5th, November, 1973 in Fort Riley, KS. Johnny Damon spent his early childhood moving from army base to army base. The family finally settled in the Orlando area. Johnny Damon was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the 1992 amateur draft and eventually played for the Royals between 1995 to 2000. In 2001, Johnny Damon joined the Oakland Athletics and later on moved to the Boston Red Sox. Johnny Damon attended Phillips High School in Orlando, Florida and was part of USA Today's High School All-American team. In his last year Damon was named Gatorade player of the year.
Johnny Damon made his Major League Baseball (MLB) debut on the 12th, August, 1995. As of mid 2005 and nineteen games into the season, Johnny Damon had played one thousand four hundred and twenty six games, nine hundred and seventy runs, six hundred and thirty four RBIs, a slugging percentage of .352, a batting average of .288 with one hundred and twenty homers. In Johnny Damon's last three years he had a very good season in 2004, his batting average was above .300, played one hundred and fifty games for the Boston Red Sox, had a slugging percentage of .477, ninety four RBIs, thirty five doubles, one hundred twenty three runs and twenty homers. Johnny Damon was a big asset when the Boston Red Sox met the New York Yankees and were down three games to none in the American League Championship Series (ALCS). In game seven Johnny Damon stepped up, blasted two homers which were inclusive of a grand slam guiding the Red Sox to the World Series which they eventually won.
