John Heard Detailed Biography
|
John Heard most recently starred in 187, opposite Samuel L. Jackson. He has recently completed filming Desert Blue, directed by Morgan J. Freeman and co-starring Ryan Phillipe and Reese Witherspoon. His previous films include My Fellow Americans, The Pelican Brief, In the Line of Fire, Before and After, Home Alone and its sequel Home Alone II.
Since his 1977 debut in Between the Lines, Heard's many screen credits have included Chilly Scenes of Winter, Cutter's Way, Deceived, Ramblin' Rose, Big, Beaches, The Trip to Bountiful, The Milagro Beanfield War, Awakenings, Betrayed and Cat People.
On television, he starred in the mini-series Cross of Fire, and was featured in an adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's Tender is the Night for Showtime, Virtuoso for the BBC and Dead Ahead: The Exxon Valdez Disaster for HBO.
On stage, Heard won a trio of Obie Awards for his work off-Broadway in G.R. Point and in the New York Shakespeare Festival's Othello and Split. His Broadway credits include Total Abandon and The Glass Menagerie. He most recently starred in Arthur Miller's The Last Yankee at the Manhattan Theatre Club.
