John Debney (born Glendale, California, 18 August 1956) is a prolific American film composer who received an Oscar nomination for his score for Mel Gibson`s The Passion of the Christ.
He was the composer for the 1996 Doctor Who television movie, for which he wrote incidental music and an arrangement of Ron Grainer's theme music. He also wrote music for Spider-Man 2, I Know What You Did Last Summer, The Relic, Scary Movie 2, the first and second Spy Kids movies, and several television series including Star Trek: The Next Generation. Debney has won three Emmy Awards for his work on television series The Cape, SeaQuest DSV, and The Young Riders. John also composed Police Academy, A Pup Named Scooby Doo, Saturday Supercade and Dink the Little Dinosaur and he wrote the theme song for the 1993 American version of Dennis the Menace for DIC Entertainment.
