Jessica Sutta (born May 15, 1982) is an American dancer, singer and actress. She is best known as a member of the successful pop / R&B group the Pussycat Dolls.
Jessica Sutta was born in Miami, Florida to a father of Russian/Polish Jewish descent and a mother of Irish descent. She grew up with two older brothers, Billy and Kevin. She started dance classes at the age of three. She went to the New World School of the Arts at age fourteen to study dance. She tore the ACL on both knees and switched to theater studies, before finally returning to dance. She joined the Miami Heat dance team in 1999 and became captain in 2001.
Sutta plays the woman who got abused by her husband in Ana Johnsson's music video for "Don't Cry for Pain". She also acted in the Swedish TV soap opera Ocean Ave., which was shot in Florida. In 2002, Sutta moved to Los Angeles. As a freelance dancer, she appeared in music videos for Will Smith, Beyoncé ("Crazy in Love"), Baby Bash, Craig David and Gloria Estefan, among others. She has also appeared in the movies "From Justin to Kelly" and "Bully". In 2007, she appeared on an episode of Identity.
She came to the attention of choreographer Robin Antin, who cast her with the Pussycat Dolls in 2002. As with all the other Dolls, Sutta is a salaried employee of Interscope Records. Her Doll nickname is "Pin Up Doll".
Sutta sang co-lead along with Carmit Bachar and Ashley Roberts in the "Stickwitu" b-side "Santa Baby". Her singing voice is "sexy" and husky, and has been compared to Marilyn Monroe's. Sutta had no role in the recording of PCD but is set to have more of a vocal role with Ashley Roberts on the Pussycat Dolls' second album Double the Trouble.
Sutta is featured on a track called "White Lies" from Paul Van Dyk's new album In Between, due to released on August 2007. "White Lies" is also the first single from this album.
