She is a vegetarian. Was offered the role of Gale Weathers in the movie Scream (1996), but turned it down to do the movie Sweethearts (1996). Courteney Cox then got the role and Scream (1996) which went on to gross more than $100 million, whereas Sweethearts (1996) went straight to video. She has 7 tattoos. Her production company is: I Hate Myself Productions. Attended Madison High School in Madison, New Jersey. Wrote a book with Ben Stiller: Feel This Book : An Essential Guide to Self-Empowerment, Spiritual Supremacy, and Sexual Satisfaction (1999). Has a tattoo on her arm which reads "think". Studied History at Providence College, a Catholic college in Rhode Island. Garofalo, barely five feet tall, sometimes had to stand on a box just to be in the same frame with 6-foot co-star Uma Thurman in The Truth About Cats & Dogs (1996). At one point or another, has worked with every member of the Kids in the Hall. In 1984, she had breast reduction surgery. The surgery reduced her measurement from a 36D cup to a B cup. Actress/Comedienne Janeane Garofalo has been consistently working in film and television. Recent projects include Disney's BIG TROUBLE (also starring Rene Russo and Tim Allen) and WET HOT AMERICAN SUMMER, which was showcased at The Sundance Film Festival in February 2003 and will be released in August. She can also be seen in her memorable and critically acclaimed roles in THE TRUTH ABOUT CATS AND DOGS, STEAL THIS MOVIE, MYSTERY MEN, DOG PARK, PERMANENT MIDNIGHT CLAY PIGEONS, THE MINUS MAN and DOGMA. In addition to a demanding shooting schedule, Janeane continues to perform stand-up around the country. Her earlier work includes COPLAND, ROMY AND MICHELLE'S HIGH SCHOOL REUNION, REALITY BITES, BYE BYE LOVE, LARGER THAN LIFE, TOUCH, and THE CABLE GUY, directed by her friend Ben Stiller. Ben and Janeane also co-authored the best seller Feel This Book (Ballantine, May 1999). Janeane was a series regular on The Larry Sanders Show, for which she received an Emmy nomination in 1997 and two Cable Ace nominations.
