James Cower Eckhouse (born February 14, 1955) is an American actor best known for playing Jim Walsh on Beverly Hills, 90210. He also directed three episodes of the show. He was on the show from the pilot episode in 1990 to 1995, when Jim and his wife, Cindy, moved to Hong Kong. James studied briefly at MIT before beginning his acting career. He has a wife and two sons and is currently living and working in Los Angeles. His oldest son is studying film at NYU.
Before his part on Beverly Hills, 90210 James did cameos in such films as Trading Places and Cocktail starring Tom Cruise.
