Jai Rodriguez is the culture expert on the American television program Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. He was born on June 22, 1979 in Brentwood, New York, of Puerto Rican and Italian descent.
In his "day job," Jai is a stage actor, known for his roles in the Broadway stage musicals Rent and Zanna, Don't!. He also has released a single, Love Is Good, which was released on indie record label Arrive At Eleven Productions, and is currently working on an album. In August 2005 Rodriguez made a two-day guest appearances on ABC daytime drama One Life to Live.
On Queer Eye Jai is known as the "Culture Vulture" and is supposedly an expert on the vague topic of culture. In practice, however, his skills are often quite varied, and during the makeover process he offers advice on a variety of social topics such as dating, relationships, self esteem, intimacy and conversation.
In November 2005, when Queer Eye went on filming hiatus for two months, Jai joined the cast of The Producers on Broadway, playing the role of Carmen Ghia. He plays a different role (as Sabu) in the 2005 Producers movie.
