Holly Hunter is one of today's most versatile actresses. In 1994, she received the Academy Award® for her performance as a mute Scottish bride in Jane Campion's "The Piano." Her performance also garnered a Golden Globe Award and Best Actress honors from The British Academy, The New York Film Critics Circle, The Los Angeles Film Critics Association, The National Board of Review, and The Cannes Film Festival. That same year, Hunter was also nominated for an Academy Award® for her performance as the investigative secretary in "The Firm," based on the best-selling novel by John Grisham. In 1987, Hunter was nominated for an Academy Award® for her portrayal of a driven network producer in "Broadcast News." This role also brought her Best Actress Awards from The New York Film Critics Circle, The National Board of Review, The Los Angeles Film Critics Association and The Berlin Film festival.

In 1992, Hunter made her Broadway debut in Beth Henley's "Crimes of the Heart," and followed that with another Broadway production of a Henley play, "The Wake of Jamey Foster." Other New York stage appearances include "The Miss Firecracker Contest," "Battery," "The Person I Once Was," "A Weekend Near Madison," and 1998's "Impossible Marriage" at The Roundabout Theatre. Regional theatre credits include "Artichoke," "A Doll's House," "The Inspector General," "A Lie of the Mind," "Buried Child," "Eden Court" and "Ghost On Fire." Hunter produced and starred in "control Freaks" and produced Ray Barry's "Mother's Son," both at The Met Theatre in Los Angeles. Hunter won an Emmy Award for her performance in "Roe VS. Wade," and then went on to win another Emmy for Best Actress in "The Positively True Adventures of the Alleged Texas Cheerleader-Murdering Mom."
