Helen Slater (born December 15, 1963 in Massapequa, New York) is an American film actress.
Slater debuted in the public spotlight as Supergirl in the 1984 movie of the same name. She has also appeared in The Legend of Billie Jean (1985)), The Secret of My Success (1987) and City Slickers (1991) as well as done the voiceover for Talia in Batman:The Animated Series (1992).
She married Robert Watzke in 1990, to whom she is currently still wed. The couple has one child, Hannah Nika, born on August 28, 1995.
In 2004, Slater became a recording artist, revealing her long time efforts as a songwriter, with her release of the CD One of these Days.
