Hayley Atwell (born 1982 in London) is an English actress.
An only child, Atwell's part native American father (once a photographer, now a motivational speaker in California) and her English mother separated when she was two.
She was a sixth-former at the London Oratory School, West London, and chose to train at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, graduating in 2005, in place of studying philosophy and theology at Oxford University.
Atwell appears in the forthcoming films The Duchess (as Lady Bess Foster) and Brideshead Revisited (film). AMC Television and ITV have announced that she will appear in a 2009 TV miniseries remake of The Prisoner, as a character code-named No. 41-5.
She served on the jury for the 2007 British Independent Film Awards.
