Harold Perrineau Jr. (born August 7, 1963) is an American actor, known for playing the character Link in the Matrix films and games, the character Augustus Hill in the American television series Oz (his character also serves as the narrator for the series), Mercutio in Romeo + Juliet, and the role of Michael Dawson in the first two seasons of the American television series Lost. He took the role of Link because the original operator Tank was written off the script after Marcus Chong was fired over money disputes.

Perrineau, Jr. was born in Brooklyn, New York to Harold Williams, Sr. His typical French last name (which is actually his mother's maiden name) is the masculine of the first name Perrine.[citation needed] Perrineau and his wife, Brittany, share a daughter, Aurora Robinson Perrineau.
