Gustav Erik Larsson (born September 20, 1980 in Gemla) is a Swedish professional road racing cyclist for UCI ProTeam Team CSC. He is a very skilled time trialist, which he showed in the 2004 time trial world championship, where he finished just outside the podium, 4th total. On the international scene he is representing for Team CSC, and in Sweden he is representing Skoghalls CK-Hammarö. Larssan began his cycling career as late as when he was at the age of 14 years, he showed some great talent and dedication and turned pro just 7 years after he began his cycling training. Team Fassa Bortolo was his first employer, and when Fassa Bortolo shut down activity in 2005 he moved further to new duties in Team Française des Jeux. Where he remained for a year before moving again to the Swedish-Belgian team Unibet.com, who gained a wild card to the UCI ProTour year 2006. But just enough to the 2007 season start Unibet.com ran into problems with the Amaury Sport Organisation who organizes the grand french races, like Paris-Nice and Tour de France. The problems later on also erupted outside France, which resulted in Unibet.com didn't get any major invitations. Unibet.com thereafter shut down their activities, Larsson was now on free foot again. Team CSC early showed their interest in the time trial specialist, he also chose Team CSC. Which he's currently (07/06-08) hired by. He resides in Besano, Italy with his girlfriend Veronica Andrèasson who is a Swedish road racing cyclist as well. Late June 2007 Larsson won the time trial Swedish championship. The victory came a day after his girlfriend collided with a car and received severe damages to the head. He also won the time trial Swedish championships in 2006. On the 13th of August, 2008, Larsson won a silver medal in the 2008 Olympic Games, for his 2nd place in the Men's Individual Time Trial.
