Rikaart grew up on Staten Island, New York and has an older sister, Keri. He graduated with honors from Villanova University in Pennsylvania. While in college, he spent a semester in Washington, D.C., as an intern for a congressman on Capitol Hill.
He appeared in shows including Grounded for Life, Gilmore Girls and Strong Medicine. He also had been recurring on Dawson's Creek after appearing in two feature films, X2: X-Men United and Prey For Rock And Roll starring opposite Gina Gershon as her brother, Scott.
Rikaart won the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in 2005.
Rikaart enjoys reading, yoga, hiking, mountain biking, watching movies, traveling.
