Gabrielle Elaine Franco Rose (born November 1, 1977 in Memphis, Tennessee) is a freestyle, medley and breaststroke swimmer from the United States, who has dual citizenship with Brazil because her mother is from that country. She competed for Brazil at the 1996 Summer Olympics, but represents the U.S. in swimming since the 1999 Pan American Games. Rose attended Stanford University graduating in March 2000 with a BA in American Studies, and trains in Berkeley, California.
She is the daughter of former Holiday Inn ceo, Mike Rose, and the step-daughter of Debbi Fields. She was also engaged to actor,model, and real-estate mogul, Adam Blake Boswell, before the Atlanta Olympic Games.
