Fardeen Khan (Hindi: फ़र्दीन ख़ान, Urdu: فردین خان) (b. 8 March 1974) is a popular Indian actor. His father, Feroz Khan, also was a popular actor in the 1970s.
Fardeen Khan is the son of Sundri Khan and famed Indian actor/director Feroz Khan. While he was brought up in India, he studied abroad.
Fardeen completed his education in business management (B.A) from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in the USA. He belongs to the Pashtun (Pathan) background.
His debut film, Prem Aggan released in 1998, was a major flop, but his second film, directed in 2000 by Ram Gopal Verma, Jungle was a hit and launched his career. His next few films went unnoticed but he bounced back in 2003 with Khushi, for which his performance was appreciated although the film flopped. He gave a critically acclaimed performance in 2004' Dev, where he starred with Amitabh Bachchan, Om Puri and Kareena Kapoor. His first hit in 2005 was No Entry, one of the year's highest grossing films. Since then none of his films have done well at the box office.
Fardeen Khan comes from a distinguished film family; his father is actor and director Feroz Khan and his uncle is actor Sanjay Khan. His cousins are Zayed Khan and Suzanne Khan, who is married to star Hrithik Roshan.
Fardeen also dated Ruheen Jaiswal for five years. He is married to Natasha Madhwani, the daughter of former actress Mumtaz and business tycoon Mayur Madhwani based in Uganda. The two were engaged in a private ceremony in London on May 6, 2005. The marriage ceremony took place on December 14, 2005 via a registration service. Allegedly, the marriage was a three-day long affair with various functions held at the Hyatt and JW Marriott hotels in Mumbai. The ceremony itself was conducted according to Muslim and Hindu rites. The wedding was a major event, attended by who's who of Bollywood.
Natasha's mother Mumtaz and Fardeen's father Feroz played lovers onscreen a number of times in the 1970s. Fardeen's wife went to boarding school in England, while her father, Mayur, pursued his business interests in Africa. After studying in America, she settled down with her parents in London.
In May 4, 2001 Fardeen Khan along with a drug pedlar Naseer Abdul Kareem Khan was arrested after the former attempted to purchase cocaine from the later at an ATM centre Juhu Vile Parle Development Scheme, a Mumbai suburb. The police caught Naseer and Fardeen with 9 gm of cocaine.
