  • He was part of the group Northern Lights who sang the song "Tears Are Not Enough" which was on the We Are The World album.
  • Attended Westdale High School in Hamilton, Ontario.
  • Part of the original, groundbreaking cast of "Second City TV" (1976) - otherwise known as SCTV. The Canadian TV Series was an comedic smash hit in the early eighties and started the careers of: Martin Short, Andrea Martin, Catherine O'Hara, and the late John Candy just to name a few. He played many roles but was probably best known as "Earl Camembert", a dimwitted news broadcaster in the fictional town of Melonville.
  • Was listed as a potential nominee on the 2005 Razzie Award nominating ballot. He was listed as a suggestion in the Worst Supporting Actor category for his performance in the film New York Minute (2004/I), he failed to receive a nomination however.

 Eugene Levy Detailed Biography
Writer/actor Levy began his career as part of the famed Second City comedy troupe with Andrea Martin, John Candy, Dan Aykroyd and Catherine O’Hara. He went on to perform as both an actor and a writer for eight seasons on the acclaimed sketch comedy series, SCTV, which garnered two Emmy Awards. Levy conceived and created numerous memorable characters including news broadcaster Earl Camembert and comic Bobby Bittman. Eventually Levy branched into directing with The Enigma of Bobby Bittman; a 30-minute biography/parody, followed by Second City’s 15th Anniversary Special. He directed his first feature, Once Upon A Crime in 1991.

Levy’s other hyphenate credits include D.O.A (actor/writer/executive producer), The Last Polka (actor/writer/executive producer), the series Maniac Mansion (actor/writer/executive producer) and Showtime’s Sodbusters (writer/director/executive producer).

Recent feature film credits include the box office hit American Pie; Multiplicity, with Michael Keaton and Christopher Guest’s Waiting For Guffman, which he also co-wrote. Levy has also appeared in such films as Father Of The Bride, with Steve Martin, I Love Trouble, Stay Tuned, Father Of The Bride 2, Armed And Dangerous, National Lampoon’s Vacation and Splash, among others. Levy will soon be seen in the upcoming Paramount Pictures release, Made To Love Her.

Television credits for the multi-talented Levy include directing the Martin Short series, acting in the Hiller And Diller series for ABC, directed Family Channel’s Partners In Love and Showtime’s I, Martin Short, Goes Hollywood. He also had roles on the special Billy Crystal - Don’t Get Me Started and has had guest appearances on such hit series as Mad About You and The Drew Carey Show.

Levy resides in Toronto with his wife, Deb.
