Torpey is perhaps best known for her portrayal of Jessica Buchanan on the ABC soap opera, One Life to Live, a role she played from 1990 until 2002. Following her departure, the role was taken over by Bree Williamson. Unlike many soap characters, Torpey's character Jessica Buchanan was never SORAS-ed.
