|
Golden Globe winner and Emmy nominee Dylan McDermott is perhaps best known for his role as idealistic defense attorney Bobby Donnell in David E. Kelley's Emmy Award-winning series The Practice. In PARTY MONSTER, which was recently in Dramatic Competition at the 2003 Sundance Film Festival, McDermott co-stars with Macaulay Culkin and Seth Green. McDermott's extensive film work includes the Warner Brothers' comedy, THREE TO TANGO, also starring Neve Campbell and Matthew Perry; TEXAS RANGERS, opposite James Van Der Beek for Dimension Films; HAMBURGER HILL, STEEL MAGNOLIAS and the Jodie Foster-directed HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS, opposite Holly Hunter and Robert Downey Jr. The actor also starred alongside renowned director Sir Richard Attenborough in the John Hughes' 1994 remake of MIRACLE ON 34 STREET. McDermott received accolades for his role as Clint Eastwood's secret service partner in Wolfgang Petersen's 1993 IN THE LINE OF FIRE.
Born in Connecticut and raised in New York City, McDermott first developed an interest in acting in high school, due partly to the encouragement of playwright Eve Ensler. Earning his drama degree at Fordham University, McDermott graduated from the prestigious Neighborhood Playhouse in New York where he went onto Broadway in Neil Simon's production of Biloxi Blues.
