Donell Jones is a Chicago-born R&B tenor singer signed to LaFace Records.
Jones started his career writing and producing for artists such as Usher ("Think Of You"), 702 ("Get It Together") , Brownstone, Silk and many others. In 1996, Jones began a recording career of his own, and had his biggest hit in 1999, U Know What's Up featuring Lisa "Left-Eye" Lopes of TLC. U Know What's Up was a number-one hit on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart for eight weeks and reached number-seven on the Billboard Hot 100 pop chart and number-two in the UK singles chart.
Jones, also noted for his 2002 single "You Know I Love You" and his cover of Stevie Wonder's "Knocks Me Off My Feet", has maintained popularity in the R&B market, but is still relatively obscure in the mainstream.
Donell Jones's upcoming album, Journey Of A Gemini, and is set to be released on February 28, 2006 by LaFace/Jive.
Jones is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
