Lawrence Muggerud (born January 28, 1968 in Queens, New York), of Italian and Norwegian decent, and better known as DJ Muggs, is Cypress Hill's DJ and producer.
DJ Muggs was DJ for the group 7A3. 7A3 released an album and several singles before disbanding.
Cypress Hill, the group then formed by DJ Muggs with B-Real and Sen Dog, were a hip hop group. DJ Muggs also works as a producer and DJ for other artists such as House of Pain ("Jump Around" and other songs on the group's debut album), Tricky (Juxtapose), Funkdoobiest ("Bow Wow Wow" and others), Ice Cube, KRS-One, Eminem, Everlast and MC Eiht.
In 2003, he released his solo album Dust, which has a trip-hop/rock sound and features Greg Dulli, Amy Trujillo and Everlast on vocals.
DJ Muggs and Cypress Hill are part of a collective of musicians, graphic and other artists, the Soul Assassins, who have so far released two compilation albums.
DJ Muggs has his own Sirius satellite radio show, Mash-Up Radio. In 2005, he founded the record label Angeles Records together with Self Scientific. One of the first releases on the label was Grandmasters, DJ Muggs' collaboration album with GZA/The Genius of Wu-Tang Clan. In 2007, a remix version of the album was released. A new collaborative album Legend Of The Mask And The Assassin, with Sick Jacken of Psycho Realm and featuring Cynic of Street Platoon/Sick Symphonies, was released in late 2007.
