Daniele De Rossi (born July 24, 1983 in Rome) is an Italian football player.
De Rossi, a product of the Roma youth system (where his father, former Roma player Alberto De Rossi, is a coach) made his first-team debut in October 2001 against Belgian side RSC Anderlecht in the UEFA Champions League. He made his Serie A debut on 3 May 2003; his first Serie A start, and his first goal, came one week later against Torino Calcio.
De Rossi participated to the 2004 Under 21 European Cup, winning the title with Italy. Later, he also participated at the 2004 Olympic Games with the Italy national team, winning a bronze medal. During his debut with the major national team, on 4 September 2004 against Norway (2–1), he scored the equalizing goal.
