Colleen Shannon was born in the U.S. state of Alaska, on April 14 1978, and was Playboy's Playmate of the Month in January, 2004 and also was the magazine's 50th anniversary Playmate.
She has toured the world as an accomplished DJ, usually playing hip hop or house music.
She appeared on the ITV show Love Island and was evicted on 20 August 2006.
A legal battle has erupted over Playboy Magazine's use of a portrait of Shannon taken by Mother Lode Photography for Independence High School's yearbook when she attended the El Dorado County school .
The photograph was used in Playboy's 2003 50th Anniversary issue, accompanying a brief bio of Shannon in which she did not mention El Dorado County or the high school.
Mother Lode Photography's co-owner Carla Calkins filed a federal lawsuit against the magazine in November 2006 following a $200 settlement offer from Playboy, citing a compensation precedent of $750 when Mother Lode's work has been published in the past.
The photograph itself was never published by Independence High, but Calkins seeks to defend her copyright. The matter is set for settlement conference in March 2007.
