Claudio Suárez (born December 17, 1968 in Texcoco, México) is a Mexican football (soccer) defender who holds the world record for the most international appearances by a male player. As of the end of 2005, Suárez has made 173 international appearances for Mexico.
Suárez began his club career with UNAM Pumas, where he played from 1988 to 1996. He moved to Chivas de Guadalajara for the 1996 Apertura, and remained there for 3 years, through the 1999 Clausura. Suárez then moved on to Tigres, where he has been since 1999.
Note, however, that several women have more appearances than Suárez; the women's leader in international matches, U.S. international mainstay Kristine Lilly, has over 100 more appearances than Suárez.
