She won her first championship with 98 Degrees member Drew Lachey in the second season of "Dancing with the Stars" (January 5, 2006 to February 26, 2006). She won her second championship with retired football star Emmitt Smith in the third season of "Dancing with the Stars" (September 12, 2006 to November 15, 2006). She began her dancing career when she began training in ballet at the age of 4 and at the age of 11 began ballroom dancing. She is half Filipina, half Irish/Russian Eurasian like fellow actresses Kelly Hu, Shannyn Sossamon, Vanessa Hudgens, Jessica Anderson, Devon Aoki, Moon Bloodgood, China Chow, Kristin Kreuk, Jaymee Ong, Maggie Q, Nicole Scherzinger, Monica Young and actors Anthony Begonia, Andrew Johnston, Brandon Lee, Keanu Reeves, Rob Schneider, Russell Wong and Michael Wong. She was taken to the hospital in Seattle on December 18, 2007 with a suspected case of appendicitis. Planning to fly home to San Francisco the next day for a second opinion with her family doctors. Growing up in San Francisco, California, Cheryl burker came from a family that loved to dance. At four years old, Cheryl burker began taking ballet lessons and performing throughout the Bay Area. When Cheryl burker was ten, Cheryl burker discovered ballroom dancing and decided to change her focus. Cheryl burker hung up her ballet shoes and began training in both standard ballroom and latin dances. By the age of thirteen, Cheryl was competing and traveling all over the world. Burke cheryl dancing star attended Las Lomitas School and graduated from Menlo-Atherton High School in 2002. Cheryl is half Filipino and half Caucasian. For Cheryl, dancing is a way of life. It provides a medium for her to express her inner feelings and passion all the while maintaining focus and composure during extremely high-pressure situations. It is dancing that has made her such a competitor (both on and off the floor) and made her strive for perfection in anything that she sets out to do. Cheryl says that her dancing style is unlike anyone else's. She takes pride in being a "rule breaker" and feels that her greatest achievements in dancing are still to come.
