Caroline Blakiston (born 13 February 1933) is an English actress who has appeared predominantly in television roles, notably in the series Brass. She also appeared as Mon Mothma in the science fiction film Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. In the 1960s she appeared in a number of ITC productions such as The Avengers and Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased) in the episode "Never Trust a Ghost" in 1969. In 1977 she appeared in Raffles as Lady Paulton. In 1986 Ms. Blakiston made a convincing Bess Sedgwick as villainess to Joan Hickson's expertly played Miss Jane Marple in "At Bertram's Hotel", made by BBC and shown on the PBS series "Mystery" in the U.S. She also appears as Lionel Hardcastle's (Geoffrey Palmer's) ex-wife in an episode of As Time Goes By.
Personal life
She was born in London. In 1970, Blakiston married the actor Russell Hunter after they had played together in A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Open Air Theatre, Regent's Park. They had a son and a daughter together, but later divorced.
