Carnie Wilson (born April 29, 1968) is an American singer and television host, best known as a member of the singing group Wilson Phillips. She is the daughter of American 60s pop icon Brian Wilson and his first wife Marilyn, a Jewish American singer. In 1990, along with her sister Wendy and Chynna Phillips, she co-founded the group Wilson Phillips, which had an extremely popular debut album, "Wilson Phillips" which launched 5 top 20 hits. Their sophomore album achieved notably less success and the group eventually broke up. Sisters Carnie and Wendy continued to perform together, producing a modestly popular Christmas album, and a little-noticed album on Mercury Records that also included singing by their father, Brian. In the mid 1990s Carnie hosted her own talk show on television, went on to record two albums with younger sister Wendy, and toured with Al Jardine's band after the effective break-up of the Beach Boys. Like Cass Elliot of The Mamas & the Papas, Wilson had had trouble with obesity most of her adult life. Dieting was ineffective: she would lose weight only to regain it later. She eventually underwent gastric bypass surgery which she felt was a life-saving decision. Due to the surgery and regular exercise, her weight is now under control. She toured TV talk shows publicising her success with the procedure. Wilson married Rob Bonfiglio in 2000. In April 2005 they welcomed their first daughter, Lola Sophia Bonfiglio. In 2004 Carnie, her sister Wendy, and Chynna Phillips regrouped to release their third album, California, which appeared on Sony Music's record label.
