Bernard Giraudeau was born on 18 June 1947 in La Rochelle. After a seven years career in the national navy he joined the Academy. His first movie was 'Two men in the city'. For his role in the movie 'The Preferred Son' he was nominated for César Award. He worked behind the camera for two telefilms, "the Face of ogre" in 1987 and "the frozen Summer" in 1991.
